Abstract

Middle aorta syndrome is a rare vascular pathology that affects children and adolescents. The diagnosis is usually late, it begins with high blood pressure that is difficult to control, and in some patients, intermittent claudication. The objective was to identify this pathology in a 14-year-old girl with renovascular hypertension, who underwent medical and endovascular treatment, who after 10 years remains stable and with permeability of the renal arteries and the abdominal aorta. Not much is known about the incidence of Middle aorta syndrome in Latin America and the Caribbean, due to the existence of under-records of the disease, or not having the necessary diagnostic means for its identification, but due to the prevalence of children with high blood pressure, it is necessary to know it. and establish therapy early, to avoid complications at an early age of life such as kidney failure and myocardial infarction.
