Abstract

Introduction: Circulatory sequelae in older people with a history of COVID-19 include fatigue, respiratory distress and increased risk of thrombosis, affecting quality of life and mobility.

Objective: To report on circulatory sequelae in older people with a history of COVID-19.

Development: The COVID-19 is responsible for a series of conditions that impact people's quality of life, worldwide. Elderly patients with a history of the disease may experience thrombosis, embolism and other blood circulation disorders. Systemic inflammation caused by the virus can damage blood vessels, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, immobilization during illness can contribute to clot formation. It is essential that health professionals carry out adequate follow-up of these patients, promoting healthy lifestyle habits and, in some cases, anticoagulant treatment to mitigate long-term complications and improve their quality of life.

Conclusions: Circulatory sequelae in older people with a history of COVID-19 are worrying and require attention. The findings suggest an increase in cardiovascular problems, which underscores the importance of monitoring circulatory health in this population. Regular medical follow-up is recommended to prevent complications and improve quality of life.
